As a German Jew, I approve of this article, lol.
It's straightforward WWII did something to the psyche of this country for generations. Other European Countries as well, that at any time, a group of people who even maybe look a lot alike, can and will sometimes commint mass genocide, her story stands as a very well known reminder of how easily an entire country can be lead into going down such an evil path, in other words, it's not really about her the person, it's about the situation her story documents.
So, those so inclined as to argue that her story has only survived because of the color of her skin are either ignorant or willfully deceitful; it's most likely surged because many Americans are probably concerned that we are on the same path but here...
